Hi, I’m Matt Drys — an artist and engineer with roots in snowy Florida and a home now in sunny metro Detroit.

I’ve been drawing and painting since I was very young, long before I found my path into engineering. While my professional life led me into a technical field, art has always been a constant — a way to explore, express, and connect with the world around me. I work primarily with acrylic and oil on canvas, drawn to the textures and depth each medium offers.

Inspired by everyday moments, natural light, and the rhythm of movement, my work blends thoughtful composition with intuitive expression. Whether it’s a landscape, an abstract form, or something in between, each piece is a reflection of both my technical background and my creative instincts.

When I’m not in the studio, you can find me on the golf course, at the bowling alley, or enjoying quiet time with a sketchbook in hand.
